Fifth public defibrillator installed

Kintore and District Community Council's Defib Project Team, has completed its programme with the installation of the fourth new life-saving Publicly Accessible Defibrillator (PAD).

Fifth public defibrillator in Kintore
The photo shows Rebecca Carr with the newly-installed defibrillator on wall of her hair salon at Midmill Parade, in Kintore.

We started the year with just one PAD on the front of First Photographic in The Square. Amazingly, despite the Cornonirus restrictions, we now have five PADs strategically placed around our community.

Plans for training sessions have had to go on hold during the current pandemic. However, all such automatic defibrillators – this PAD will talk you through the whole process of using the machine. It will also carry out the diagnosis and will only advise and administer a shock if the patient requires it.

To recap, four PAD defibrillators are now located:

  • In The Square on the front of First Photographics
  • On the fence at 41 Hallforest Avenue
  • In the carpark of Co-op
  • Main entrance at Kintore Primary School.
  • In front of Rebecca Carr at Midmill Parade

Please memorise these locations so you know where to go (or send someone) in an emergency.
Please also take the time to review this video on how to use a defibrillator. Knowing what to do, you could save a life.
