Your chance to support the Town House

Action Kintore – Kintore’s community charity – has an ambition to bring the Town House back into use for the community.

Until 1974 the magnificent 18th century Town House, with its distinctive double staircase, housed the council chamber and offices for Kintore Burgh Council. Over the years it has also served as court and even as the town jail.

Action Kintore is applying for a Community Asset Transfer with the aim to develop the Town House into a new social and civic centre for Kintore. The current plans include a flexible multi-use hall, small bar / reception room, toilets and a small commercial kitchen.

The plan is also to have a commercial use unit, which would provide some rental income. The old vault would be used for local exhibition opportunities to display artefacts relating to the extensive Roman, Pictish and agricultural heritage of the area.

A new rear vestibule would provide lift and stairs to access the upper floors.

Come along to find out more about the plans for the Town House and to give Action Kintore your comments and confirm your support.
