Developers are holding an meeting to discuss their plans for a new Scotbeef abattoir and meat production facility and Thainstone, in the Kintore & District Community Council area.
Because of the planned location, high on the hillside, particular concerns have been expressed about the visual impact on views of Bennachie, recognised by the National Geographical Society as possibly Britain’s favourite hill.
Other noted concerns have been the loss of fields, the impact on historic Camies’ Stone and increased traffic at the Thainstone roundabout on the A96.
Members of the development team will be available to discuss concerns and issues regarding their planning application to move the abbatoir to a greenfield site at Thainstone.
The meeting will be on Friday, April 27 from 11 am in The Bothie, Allendale Gardens, Kintore AB51 0UQ.
