What are your flood prevention priorities?

Following the devastating flooding in Kintore last month, Aberdeenshire Council have asked Kintore and District Community Council to identify what it believes are the three highest flood prevention priorities in the town.
At last night’s (Tuesday, February 16) community council meeting, members of the community council identified these as priorities:
- Preventing the Torryburn Flooding onto Kingsfield Road, with further banking and wall repairs.
- Preventing flooding onto Macallan Road with banking.
- Preventing the Lochburn flooding onto Northern Road, perhaps by keeping the burn on the East Side of the railway line.
Do you agree with these priorities? Do you have others you wish to suggest?

“Kintore and District Community Council will be canvassing views soon for our local Community Resilience Plan,” adds Brian Johnston, chairman of the community council, “so will be in touch seeking your views to then work towards a joint agency meeting to further discuss and review.”
