Hope you have all dried out after last years’ festival! I would like to thank all the stallholders and those that came along despite the awful weather, I think it demonstrated what a great community we have in Kintore.
Planning is well and truly underway for this years festival and we have set the date as Saturday, May 26.
We have lots of exciting new events planned for the festival. On the day we plan to have all our usual events with the addition of a:
- Football tournament for over 18s
- Children’s races
- Specialist and vintage car show
We also plan to have a special visitor from Tyrant the T-Rex which is a 4m long Dinosaur that walks, runs, roars, blinks and swings his tail! Casino Night - Saturday May 19
In the week before the festival, we have decided to repeat our very successful Casino Night, which will be held on Saturday 19th
May at 7.30pm in the Kintore Public Hall, tickets will be available from J&G Dossett, priced at £15 which includes £5 worth of gambling chips to get you started.
There will be a licenced bar, full size casino tables and professional croupiers. Absolutely no experience necessary so just come along for some fun and games! The person with the most chips at the end of the night wins a prize! 5K Fun Run - Tuesday, May 22
On Tuesday 22nd May we will have our very popular 5k Fun run and again this year registration will be through Results base. We will advertise details of this nearer the time. Mary Burnett & Friends - Thursday, May 24
Finally, Mary Burnett has very kindly agreed to entertain the residents of Provost Laurence Court and Airlie House again this year on Thursday 24th.
I am sure everyone would agree, we really missed Ruby MacKay’s live music last year and we are looking into ways we can protect her equipment if we have a repeat of the weather of last year. This obviously comes at a cost. Therefore, if anyone has access to a large gazebo to cover a stage area and surrounding area or has a business that would be keen to sponsor the hire of a covered stage we would love to hear from you!
We have been very fortunate to have lots of offers of help on the day but we could always do with more to allow us to do everything we want to do to make the festival even better. Also if you are a local business and would like to have a stall at the festival, please get in touch.
For any enquiries please contact us either through our Facebook page or email, firstname.lastname@example.org
Now all we need is for you all to come along and please bring the sun with you!
